Our Teaching Team

“Learning is a journey, not a destination.”

Here at Learning Unlimited, our teachers endeavor to provide an inspiring learning environment that will spark endless curiosity and possibilities. Come and meet our professional, passionate and friendly teaching team:

Janet Walden

Hello, My name is Janet and I’m the center manager at Learning Unlimited Childcare.  I’m a New Zealand qualified and registered Early Childhood teacher. I am a Kiwi, born in Auckland, and I have worked in early childhood for 15 years. I have twin boys, now 25 years old. I love how the world of early childhood sets up our children to go on to have a love for learning that they will take with them forever.

An early childhood centre is a place for children to learn, as well as for people to build community and develop long lasting relationships.  The saying is “it takes a village to raise a child”. I welcome the opportunity to work with you to support your child to get the best care and education they deserve.

Nalini Manikkam

Hello, my name is Nalini and I’m a qualified and registered teacher at Learning Unlimited Childcare. I have a total of 32 years experience in education. My love for spending time with children soon brought me back to working with them! My now adult children Clyden and Cheralee, husband Chris and I emigrated to New Zealand in 1997. I also have an eight year old grandson Crispin.

My passion lies in nurturing children by using my expertise and working with children’s’ interests and most importantly the child’s stages of development. I enjoy preparing 4 year olds for transition to school. I believe children are like flowers ready to bloom and I consider it is a privilege to be a part of this beautiful process.

Lynn Chen

I came from China at 17 years old and since then fell in love with this beautiful country and its people. I have been working with children for more than eight years since completing my Bachelor degree in Early Childhood Education. I believe I can support children’s development by providing a rich learning environment with endless possibilities and opportunities that assist them to achieve their full potential.

I can speak fluently in Mandarin and Cantonese as well as English. It gives me great joy to be able to support our Chinese families in the settling process and communicate with them about their children’s needs and progress at Learning Unlimited.
