Education&#8217;s (YCDI&#8217;s) main purpose is to support communities, schools, and homes in a collective effort to optimize the social, emotional, and academic outcomes of all young people. Its unique contribution is in identifying the social and emotional capabilities that all young people need to acquire in order to be successful in school, experience wellbeing, and have positive relationships including making contributions to others and the community (good citizenship).<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Professor Bernard is the Founder of You Can Do It! Education, a school-home social and emotional learning program being employed in over 6,000 schools in Australia as well as in schools in New Zealand, England, Canada and the United States.&#8221;<\/em> &#8211; Copied from You Can Do It website.<\/p>\n<p>We have been successfully modeling and teaching positive attitudes and social skills such as curiosity, friendliness, confidence, independence, persistence, resilience to our children by incorporating the &#8220;You Can Do It&#8221; program in our curriculum.<\/p>\n<h2><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>We use the \u201cLetterland\u201d programme<\/strong> (http:\/\/www.letterland.co.nz\/)<\/h2>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-3558 alignleft\" src=\"http:\/\/learningunlimited.co.nz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/Letterland-300x183.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"183\" \/>Letterland progam is a award-winning educational program originally created by Lyn Wendon in 1968. <em>Letterland<\/em>\u00a0is a unique, phonics-based approach taught in many New Zealand schools and early childhood centres.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u00a0&#8220;Today,\u00a0we sell in 111 countries worldwide and our award-winning books and software have\u00a0helped\u00a0countless young children learn to read, write and spell.
